Presentation of interior spaces is as important as the packaging of a product.When we get into a store to purchase an item ,the one best packaged attracts our eye immediately before taking a closer look at the contents of the package.Here's the scoop on how to present your interior spaces:
1.Master your palette.
There are many different types of colour and material palettes to choose from. We've already done a few posts on these topics of palettes therefore it should not be a challenge to achieve.You can always experiment and veer out of the colour scheme once you've learnt the basics of colour and material coordination.
2.Decide on what you want to show.
Yes.Decide on what you want to show.Is it that lovely print on your curtain?or is it the large water feature at the lobby space?how about the views framed by the hotel windows?Just decide and make this your focal point.It could be subtle in the form of print or texture scattered all over the space or it could be very strong such as seen in large objects or features.
3.Work with light.
According to the words of Louis Khan,light is the giver of space.Specifically natural light.One thing you need to appreciate is that,natural light showcases the true colour of surfaces although artificial light may help it never really achieves what natural light is able to achieve.We'll do a series on light and how to understand it to create better interior spaces.
4.Tie it up with a beautiful bow.
Once you've considered all these things mentioned above, present it in a pretty bow.What does this mean?It means bring your space together with small decorative elements that sort of tie things together.Think of an office reception,you could add a magazine rack that carries texture or print or colour similar to the theme or it could be a pen holder that does this or framed awards that carry on the theme.
Another good example could be in a kitchen;elements such as your chopping boards or fruit baskets or your knives.
Simply put think of the overall aesthetic of your space to achieve well designed interior spaces.
